11      Friday Five

People come, people go. Some people become friends, some don’t. Friends do come and go, too. Do you believe in friendship as much as you believe in first love at the first sight — or you don’t at all? Here are questions to Friday Five.

1. Do you remember your first best friend? Who was it?
Being three and knowing nobody at the Kindergarten could be pretty intimidating. One day I was seated next to this charming little girl. Since then, we always sat next to each other, throughout K-1, K-2, all the way to high school. Even when we decided to further our studies, we went the same way for a college education in Australia. Althought she ended up being in Brisbane and me in Sydney.

2. Are you still in touch with this person?
After college, I went to Singapore to live for a few years. She came afterwards, although there was no intention for her to follow me because basically after quite a long time spending time without this best friend, we were kind of separated in a way that we hardly communicated to each other — the way best friends normally do.
So, no, I am not still in touch with her. Although, there were several attempts, people do change and I move on.

3. Do you have a current close friend?
After being with someone for (how it feels like forever) long, he has become a more-than-a- friend as well as partner in life.

4. How did you become friends with this person?
I wish I had the whole day to tell you.

5. Is there a friend from your past that you wish you were still in contact with? Why?
Probably Gusri. Why? Because she was the first friend I had. It is more like for the sake of reminiscence, perhaps.
